BIM, in a nutshell, is a very intelligent, informative, and necessarily complex 3D model of a building or facility. We make BIM work for you by constructing your 3D scheme in virtual reality, as closely as possible to the real thing, before it actually goes on site. Covering everything from the site,structure, M/E, and entourage to construction costs to construction phase animation, we build it all to save you time, money, and headache during the project management process. Once the model is completed its then utilized for Facility management, which that in itself is becoming a major discipline it its own right.

The digital model incorporates all information from every design source into one central repository on which all parties can draw. The BIM Model may be generated from existing 2D (e.g. Autocad or PDF format) drawings or created from inception in 3D format. Various software packages are available depending on the clients requirements. In some circumstances, the software chosen may be stipulated in the contract documents.

BIMS Group has extensive experience in various software packages. BIMS Group staff are trained in BIM software packages that create BIM models using a universal format called Industry Foundation Classes (IFC). IFC is a neutral file format that makes it possible to exchange information among different disciplines and software packages. IFC is a model-based file format developed by the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI).
